The Artist Behind the Mark
About
Hi, I’m Kyle.
I’m the artist, designer, and storyteller behind The Long Hound.
I’ve always loved creating. Not necessarily in one medium, but in anything that lets an idea become real. Art classes first introduced me to digital design and the many wonders and occasional betrayals of Photoshop and Illustrator. From there, I began doodling in Procreate, creating characters, exploring visual storytelling, and eventually writing my own romantic comedy (still in progress).
The Long Hound began with a custom shadow box. That first project sparked the idea that my creative work could grow into something more. Today, the studio is a home for character art, graphic design, book-related artwork, personal story projects, and whatever other inspiration pops into my head.
The name comes from the miniature dachshunds that have shared my life for nearly twenty years. My current six—Audrey, Alvin, Andy, Amos, Ryder, and Harris—serve as studio companions, creative supervisors, and highly opinionated editors.
The KNR mark you’ll see throughout the studio is simply my initials, used as my personal maker’s mark.
When I’m not creating or at work bartending and managing a restaurant/nightclub, I also show horses with AQHA. Horses are another part of my life that has taught me patience, attention to detail, and the value of trusting the process.
At its heart, The Long Hound is about making something personal from the stories, characters, memories, and ideas that matter to us.
I’m glad you stopped by to see what I’m creating.
